Manchester United have issued a statement after their Premier League clash with Liverpool was postponed. The club came to the decision following a protest from supporters that saw a number enter the stadium.

Thousands descended upon Old Trafford to protest against the Glazer family’s ownership of the club. There has been a furious backlash to proposals that would have seen the formation of the European Super League.

The Red Devils were announced as one of 12 ‘founding members’ that will have seen a closed shop at the top of European football.

Joel Glazer issued a lengthy apology shortly after they backed out of the ESL, but fans have roundly rejected that and made their feelings known.
