Manchester United reportedly rejected the opportunity to sign Edinson Cavani seven years ago - after then boss David Moyes made three separate scouting trips to watch the Uruguayan striker.

Cavani joined United on a free transfer on deadline day having left Paris Saint-Germain following the expiry of his contract in the French capital.
