Manchester United have reportedly reached an agreement with Brighton for youngster Toby Collyer. Collyer, 18, has already captained England at youth level and has been touted as one of the best young central midfielders in the country.

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano appeared to confirm the news on Twitter. He tweeted: "Manchester United have reached full agreement to sign talented midfielder Toby Collyer [born in 2004] from Brighton for their youth team, per @TheSecretScout_."Despite Collyer's impressive pedigree, he has not featured much for Brighton this season. The midfielder has been restricted to just one appearance in the U18 Premier League - a 45-minute cameo against Leicester City in August.According to the club's website, he has not turned out for either the club's U18 or U21 sides since.

Despite his lack of game time this term, Collyer made a big impact during the 2020-21 campaign. He made 25 appearances in total across the U18 Premier League, FA Youth Cup and Premier League 2.Collyer also made the bench for an EFL Trophy fixture against AFC Wimbledon which ended 2-0 to the League One Dons. Are you excited about what the future holds for United?
