Manchester United and Aston Villa fans were fuming with the state of the pitch as they played each other in a preseason friendly down under.The two Premier League sides faced off in a harmless friendly but fans were furious and questioning how on Earth the game went ahead with players seen sliding across the muddy turf.

The Optus Stadium in Perth, Australia, had been hammered by rain in the build-up to the match, and fans could tell despite them being on the other side of the globe.

The pitch had already been questioned when Leeds and Crystal Palace faced each other the night before, with a number of players suffering injuries during the match, but this didn't deter organisers from cancelling the Utd vs Villa game.
