Man saved from Glasgow canal after major emergency services response

Glasgow around 11.20pm on Sunday August 1. Local residents from the Knightswood area of the city took to social media to describe the events of the night.

One said: "2 police vans, an ambulance and an incident response vehicle have just sped past us on Great Western Road, heading west."Another local suggested: "I'm thinking someone is possibly in the canal, 2 fire engines and 2 boat rescue came back down Baldwin, it could be a hoax call as it happens a lot up here."A concerned resident added: "Something is wrong, hope nobody is in the canal." The unidentified man was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment but his condition currently remains unknown.
