A man was rushed to hospital after being rescued from a stream by mountain rescue teams after a fall on Sunday afternoon (May 28).

Emergency services were called to the scene at Bolton Arboretum, on Bradshaw Brow, shortly before 4.30pm to reports of a casualty who had fallen into a body of water.

Paramedics from the North West Ambulance Service attended the scene along with specialists from the Bolton Mountain Rescue Team to help rescue the man who had fallen in. READ MORE: Join the FREE Manchester Evening News WhatsApp community It was confirmed the man, aged in his 30s, was pulled from the Bradshaw Brook stream and taken to Royal Bolton Hospital from the scene with a leg injury.

A spokesperson for the Bolton Mountain Rescue Team said: "The team was contacted at 16:28 by the North West Ambulance Service asking for assistance to extricate a casualty in a stream at Bolton Arboretum. "Two members met with the awaiting ambulance crew and helped gain access to the casualty.
