Disney World cast member to sneak into the resort and steal a Star Wars R2-D2 droid worth $10,000 (£8,269).David Proudfoot, 44, was caught and arrested by police following the daring heist at the Florida theme park on May 31.

The Orange County Sheriff's Office were called to the Swan Reserve Hotel by Disney security and found Proudfoot wearing a Disney nametag and the beige and orange worker's uniform. READ MORE: Yoga instructor, 23, found hacked to death in bath as cops hunt 'chilling messages'He told them he was called David Rodgers and that he worked in the receiving division at the Yacht Club Resort.According to Fox 5 Atlanta, an arrest affidavit states hotel security alerted Disney security as Proudfoot was suspiciously pushing a heavy cart.Security initially tried to help him but he seemed confused by the hotel's proper procedures and loading dock, thus alerting them to the fact he was an imposter.

Proudfoot told police he worked moving items from one place to another, naming his boss as James McDaniels. However, a check revealed that McDaniels did work in Florida, but that no one called David Rodgers worked for Disney.

Police then took Proudfoot to the Yacht Club Resort's worker's lockers and asked him to get his ID and belongings, which he couldn't do.
