Man led police on chase on foot after crashing car into lamppost

A man has been detained by police after he crashed a car into a lamppost and then led them on a chase on foot. The male, who was driving a grey car this afternoon, January 24, was chased by police after he sped off from them in Urmston.

Following a police pursuit, the car smashed into a lamppost on Great Stone Road, beside the junction with Kings Road. Pictures from the scene show an ambulance in attendance, as well as three police vehicles. The driver remains in custody. More details about the incident are not known.
