A man decided to drive 224 miles with his wife in the boot to buy a £15 eBay item when he was meant to be in lockdown. The driver, from Coventry, was stopped by motorway patrol after heading to Salford, Greater Manchester, to pick up some windows he paid £15 for.
He made the journey despite government guidelines stating we must only leave the house for essential reasons to prevent the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.
After making the journey there with his wife as a passenger, the couple discovered she couldn’t fit into the car as well as the windows, so she spent the journey back in the boot.
