Manchester City’s players are reportedly confident that Pep Guardiola will sign a new contract and commit his long-term future to the club.Guardiola’s current deal expires next summer and he is yet to make a decision about whether to stay beyond what will be his seventh year with Man City.City, who beat Fulham 4-1 on Saturday in the FA Cup, are nine points clear at the top of the Premier League table and on course to win Guardiola’s fourth league title with the club.If they maintain their lead the 51-year-old will win his 11th trophy with City, but there is increasing scrutiny over how long his managerial stint will last.Guardiola has already stayed longer with City than at his previous clubs, Barcelona and Bayern Munich, and has publicly stated he will wait until the end of the season to decide his future.
However, The Mirror reports that his players are expecting him to sign a new contract because he ‘can’t walk away’ from what he has built over the past six years.
