Laporte, 27, recently switched allegiances as he opted to move from France to Spain prior to the start of Euro 2020. He was born in France and played through the youth levels including the u-21 level where he made 19 appearances.
However, last month he decided to make the switch after never being handed a senior cap by Les Bleus despite strong performances for City and has instead chosen to represent Spain, qualifying through his Basque heritage.
