The crash involved a heavy goods vehicle (HGV) which came off the westbound carriageway and went into a field. Emergency services were called to junction 10 near Warrington on Monday afternoon (June 14).
Cheshire Police said they believe the collision was caused by a 'medical episode'. A spokesperson for North West Ambulance Service told Cheshire Live the man was in a serious condition.
