Man airlifted to hospital as brutal dog attack causes 'life-threatening injuries'

Manchester Evening News reports. The dog has since been brought under control, but members of the public have been told to avoid the area.A police scene still remains in place at Yewdale Gardens.

Bolton Council has also dispatched its Dog Enforcement Control Unit. Greater Manchester Police earlier said in a statement: "Officers were called to Yewdale Gardens, Bolton, at about 1.20pm on Thursday 6 May 2021 to reports a man was being attacked by a dog."NWAS [North West Ambulance Service] and an air ambulance attended and a 50-year-old man was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries to his arm and face."A scene remains in place and enquiries are ongoing.
