A man accused of attacking rapist Reynhard Sinaga in prison has pleaded not guilty. Jack McRae, 32, is charged with attempting to cause grievous bodily harm; and assault occasioning actual bodily harm, to Sinaga on July 4, 2023.
He is also charged with four other counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm; one count of assaulting a prison officer; and one other count of attempting to cause grievous bodily harm.
The alleged offences are said to have taken place at HMP Wakefield between May and August 2023. Sinaga, 41, was jailed in January 2020 for carrying out 159 sex offences, including a string of rapes.
He is currently serving a minimum of 40 years behind bars. Appearing at Leeds Crown Court on Tuesday (February 4) via video-link from HMP Frankland, in Durham, Mr McRae entered not guilty pleas to all eight counts.
