Man, 72, dies 'in tragic incident' after being hit by lorry

A 72-year-old man died after being hit by a lorry in Ashton-under-Lyne, police have confirmed. The incident happened on Manchester Road yesterday on Thursday (October 14).

Officers say they were called to reports of a collision between a lorry and a pedestrian just before 2pm. Emergency services attended but despite the best efforts of paramedics, a 72-year-old man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
