Man, 23, tragically dies as distressed mum says 'I thought he was invincible'

epileptic seizure. Jonathan Roberts, 23, was living with his flatmates when he suddenly passed away from a condition known as Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy (SUDEP).

His mum, Sharon Smithies, said that she ‘thought he was invincible’ as he had always recovered well from seizures in the past.

According to Liverpool Echo, Jonathan had lived with epilepsy for almost 10 years but his condition had deteriorated over the last 18 months.

Sharon, who lives in Greater Manchester and where Jonathan also spent a time living before moving to Liverpool, now wants to help raise awareness of epilepsy and work with SUDEP charities across the UK.
