Married at First Sight star George Roberts has reportedly been arrested following allegations of harassment and emotional abuse.

The 40-year-old reality star, who features on the current series of E4's popular dating show, has been faced with numerous accusations from ex-girlfriends who raised concerns about his behaviour after spotting him on TV.The Met Police told The Sun: "A 40-year-old man was arrested in Worcestershire on Thursday, September 29, on suspicion of controlling and coercive behaviour.READ MORE: MAFS UK's Marilyse still feeling effects of major organ donation ahead of marathon"He was taken to a police station and bailed pending further enquiries."Financial adviser and dad-of-four George has denied any wrongdoing.The decision by show bosses to continue with the pre-recorded show, which airs every weeknight, has faced scrutiny with the women involved and members of the viewing public.The women, who claim to have dated George after he split from his first wife, have reportedly been in show bosses with information about his alleged past behaviour, dubbing him "manipulative" and "abusive".A response statement by George before his arrest, read: "As a father of daughters, he finds these accusations deeply upsetting and does not condone abuse nor behaves in that way."These allegations were never brought to his attention, investigated or taken further by the police for good reason as they are simply not true."A spokesperson from Channel 4, which runs E4, responded to the accusations sating that all contestant are "subject to rigorous background and psychological checks, including the most detailed police checks a production is able to undertake."Despite their decision to keep George on the show, they reiterated.
