Steven Gerrard

Steven George Gerrard MBE (born 30 May 1980) is an English professional football manager and former player who manages Scottish Premiership club Rangers.

He spent the majority of his playing career as a central midfielder for Liverpool, with most of that time spent as club captain, as well as captaining the England national team. Widely regarded as one of the greatest midfielders of all time,

Gerrard was awarded the UEFA Club Footballer of the Year award in 2005, and the Ballon d'Or Bronze Award. In 2009, Zinedine Zidane and Pelé said that they considered Gerrard to be the best footballer in the world.

Steven Gerrard may be considered one of the greatest Premier League midfielders of all time, but Luke Chadwick has something the Liverpool legend never managed to get his hands on - a top-flight winners’ medal.

When attempting to poke fun at Gerrard, who failed to win the title in his iconic stint as Reds captain, Manchester United fans often point to the fact Chadwick betters him in that department.

The latter was part of United’s 2000/01 title-winning squad, racking up 16 league appearances as Sir Alex Ferguson’s men saw off Arsenal to retain their crown.

But while Chadwick insists he is “honoured and proud” of his own achievement, the former midfielder has humbly admitted that Gerrard was on another level to him. “Chadwick 1 Gerrard 0”
