The first Love Island contestant with a disability has shared his inspirational journey - from a childhood of operations to an international sporting career.
Hugo Hammond is a PE teacher in a secondary school who loves everything to do with exercise. He’s also a brilliant cricket player, stepping out for his country at international level.
He revealed: “I’ve actually played cricket for England PD (Physical Disability). I’ve been to Bangladesh, Dubai, I’ve been everywhere to play cricket.” The 24-year-old was born with clubfoot.
It’s a condition that affects one baby in every 1,000 in the UK, and is more common in boys than girls. According to the NHS, clubfoot happens because the Achilles tendon (the large tendon at the back of the ankle)
