Love Island fans were left confused when it was announced at the beginning of the Meet The Parents episode on Sunday night that they had to socially distance from their loved ones.
The infamous episode sees the families of each of the Islanders visit the villa - after up to 10 weeks of not seeing one another.
But during this year’s, the families were not allowed to hug - or even touch - one another due to COVID restrictions, despite most countries not having relaxed the rules.Taking to Twitter, one viewer wrote: “Why are they social distancing it’s completely unnecessary lol did the parents not do covid tests beforehand?” Another added: “Over two years into Covid-19 and they’re making the parents social distance?
Not seen other shows still doing that… not being able to hug their own parents!??” A third bemoaned: “Totally ridiculous they still can’t hug their parents in the Love Island reunions.
