Liam James Payne (born 29 August 1993) is an English singer and songwriter.
He rose to fame as a member of the boy band One Direction.
Payne made his debut as a singer when he auditioned for the British television series The X Factor in 2008. After being eliminated as a solo performer, he auditioned again in 2010 and was put into a group with four other contestants to form One Direction
FORMER One Direction star Louis Tomlinson reckons the boy band’s first album was “s***”. The singer, 30, says Up All Night — released in 2011 — fails to measure up to the four other studio records that followed.
Even so, it sold 4.5million copies globally and made 1D the first UK band to have a No1 debut album in the US. Louis was the oldest member of the group put together by the judges on TV’s The X Factor on 2010.
The others were Harry Styles, Niall Horan and Liam Payne, all 28, and Zayn Malik, 29. Louis, from Doncaster, South Yorks, told an Aussie podcast last week: “Twelve years ago today the band got formed, but the first album was s any way.” .css-16e4f55{margin:16px 0;}.css-u6yh49{background-color:rgba(246,242,249,1);margin:16px 0;}.css-1tapza8{padding:20px 15px;}.css-1bk4jdt{padding:20px.
