LOOSE Women was forced to cancel today's show at the last minute as a security alert forced ITV's daytime line-up off air. Stars including Nadia Sawalha and Linda Robson are thought to have been forced to leave the studio.

ITV instead aired a 'best bits' episode after the broadcaster's live schedule was hit by chaos. This Morning disappeared half an hour before it was due to end, with an emergency tape playing in its place.

It comes amid a security alert by Wood Lane station in London, directly opposite the ITV show's Television Centre studios. It is thought the iconic building - home to ITV's daytime line up as well as Ant and Dec's Saturday Takeaway and other hits - has been evacuated.

ITV did not explain why the live shows were off-air, tweeting simply: "We apologise for the break in live programming today. "We are currently running pre-recorded content and hope to be back with you soon." When This Morning returned from a break at 12.14pm, the titles ran again with Holly and Phil in a pre-recorded video.
