Modest Mouse have announced a North American tour celebrating two and a half decades since they released their breakthrough second album, 1997’s ‘The Lonesome Crowded West’.Kicking off in November, the band will tour as a four-piece on the road, with founding members Isaac Brock and Jeremiah Green joined by Russell Higbee and Simon O’Connor – who joined the band in 2012 and 2021 respectively.The 20-date tour will begin at the Wilma Theater in Missoula on November 18 and will continue along to Seattle, Portland, Vancouver, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Austin, Dallas, Chicago, Washington, Philadelphia, Boston and more before wrapping up on December 17 at Terminal 5 in New York. Girlpool have announced their imminent disbandment, confirming that their upcoming North American tour – of which they’ve also cancelled roughly two thirds – will serve as their last run of shows altogether.“After nine years, we have decided to take a break from Girlpool and go our separate ways as songwriters,” the band, consisting of Avery Tucker and Harmony Tividad (who both sang and played guitar and bass) wrote in a statement. “This upcoming tour will be our last one – it will be an ode to the past, a celebration for the future and something we will pour both of our hearts into completely.”The pair went on to assure fans that there is no bad blood between them, declaring: “We are each other’s biggest fans and always encourage each other to stretch and evolve, whether that means it’s alongside one another or not.”Girlpool were due to begin their North American tour in Sacramento, however that show (booked in for  September 6) has now been cancelled, alongside 14 other shows on the run.

Paramount+ has rounded out the cast for its upcoming YA drama series School Spirits as production gets underway in Vancouver. Kristian Flores (Reboot), Spencer MacPherson (Reign), Kiara Pichardo (The Society), Sarah Yarkin (Texas Chainsaw Massacre), Nick Pugliese (Dramarama) and Rainbow Wedell (The Wilds) join previously announced Peyton List in the series based on the upcoming graphic novel by Nate & Megan Trinrud and Maria Nguyen. The streamer also confirmed the casting of Milo Manheim, which we previously reported, as a lead opposite List.

Simone Kessell (Obi-Wan Kenobi) is joining the second season of Showtime’s Yellowjackets as the adult Lottie Matthews.

Hewson has also been promoted to series regular for season 2. When it comes to Lottie, the news of Kessell’s casting is not a spoiler, since it was revealed in the season 1 finale that Lottie is, in fact, alive.

Superman & Lois series regular Jordan Elsass will not be returning for the upcoming third season of the CW’s DC series. As a result, his role, Jonathan Kent, will be recast. The decision was made after Elsass did not report for duty by the deadline given to the cast to go back to work in Vancouver where Superman & Lois films.
