A review of North Lanarkshire’s new enlarged bins for public spaces is to be carried out after councillors put forward residents’ calls for a “rethink on locations and frequency of emptying”.Small litter bins in the area’s parks and streets are being replaced with a reduced number of 240-litre and 360-litre containers, which will be emptied once every three weeks in line with the authority’s domestic waste collection schedule.However, opposition members say the removal of hundreds of the smaller bins has resulted in increased litter – including dog waste – at the previous sites.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
