Sign up to FREE email alerts from the Northern Agenda Local elections have taken place across England on May 6, as voters chose local councillors, mayors and police and crime commissioners, as new Parliaments are being elected in Wales and Scotland.
A by-election will also take place in Hartlepool to select a new Member of Parliament. The increased number of votes taking place this week is down to the coronavirus pandemic, which postponed the majority of votes scheduled to take place in May 2020.
