Playing Fernando Torres against Liverpool on his Chelsea debut after a £50m from the club was a massive mistake. That is the opinion of John Terry, who believes then-Blues manager Carlo Ancelotti struggled to combine the likes of Didier Drogba, Nicolas Anelka and the former Spain international.

Torres left Anfield for Stamford Bridge in a £50m move on deadline day in January. It left many fans bamboozled with the transfer coming seemingly from nowhere.

And with the west London outfit playing Liverpool next, Ancelotti decided to start his new signing from the beginning. However, it was a tough debut for Torres - who was hauled off after just over an hour after having not much of an impact.
