Haim have released a new single called ‘Everybody’s Trying To Figure Me Out’ – listen to it below. The song is the second preview of the Los Angeles trio’s upcoming, yet-to-be-announced fourth album, following on from last month’s ‘Relationships’.Per a press release, ‘…Figure Me Out’ boasts “a driving rock influence, while being a contemplative exploration about feeling misunderstood” as Danielle Haim sings over a raw, guitar-led instrumental.“Oh my God/ I feel like I might live inside of everyone’s thoughts/ I wish I could slow the tape down to the point where everything stops/ Everybody’s tryna figure me out now/ And I don’t know why,” she states.Later, the frontwoman adds: “Renters’ rights, squatters’ rights/ I’ll be the gatekeeper for the rest of my life/I don’t want your charity/ Spend a night in the cold if it keeps me free.” Writing about the new single on social media, Danielle explained: “This next song we will be releasing is my favourite song we’ve written in the last couple years… writing it has gotten me through some hard times, and we felt this might be of some use to get our vibes right for this summer!“I started writing this after a panic attack I had the night I got home from tour.

I was very confused because I was SO SO SO happy about our incredible tour, but something about being alone with myself scared the shit out of me.”She continued: “After a lot of reflecting I realised I’ve let a lot of people try and tell me how I should live my life, but I realised in making everyone else happy, I lost myself.”The singer-songwriter went on to say she wrote the track “as a way to believe in myself again and quit being scared to do what I want”, adding: “I hope this finds anyone who needs it.”‘…Figure Me Out’.
