Lionsgate's Starz has inked a deal in Indonesia that will boost the local footprint for its regional streaming service Lionsgate Play via a strategic partnership with telecom giant Telkomsel.
Under the deal, financial terms of which were not disclosed, Lionsgate Play's content will be made available to Telkomsel's subscribers in a variety of special offers linked to their existing accounts.
Telkomsel subscribers also will get a sneak preview of Lionsgate Play's library of movies via Maxstream, the telecom's in-house video application.
Lionsgate Play, a service co-created by Lionsgate India and Starz, was previously only available in India, where it offers consumers a collection of Hollywood content spanning blockbuster films and popular.
