Lion King composer 'can't remember' Mandela chat with Meghan Markle after wedding claims

Meghan Markle at the remake's London premiere in 2019 has said he doesn't remember talking about Nelson Mandela with her. This comes after the Duchess of Sussex claimed a South African cast member at the premiere told her that people in the country celebrated her marriage to Prince Harry "the same we did when Mandela was freed from prison".

"I cannot comment on the matter as it was three years ago and I don’t remember details of that conversation which was less than a minute, except the royals were going to South Africa or Botswana."Discussing the premiere in her recent bombshell interview with The Cut, Meghan said: "He [an unnamed South African cast member] looked at me, and he’s just like light. "He said: 'I just need you to know: When you married into this family, we rejoiced in the streets the same we did when Mandela was freed from prison.'"Footage from the night shows Morake briefly meeting the royals.
