Liam James Payne (born 29 August 1993) is an English singer and songwriter.
He rose to fame as a member of the boy band One Direction.
Payne made his debut as a singer when he auditioned for the British television series The X Factor in 2008. After being eliminated as a solo performer, he auditioned again in 2010 and was put into a group with four other contestants to form One Direction

However, Payne repeatedly suggested that he would be interested in stepping into the squared circle and being ‘gladiatorial in the 21st century’ if such an opportunity arose.The 23-year-old is still getting to grips with Ju-Jitsu after taking up the martial art.
But when Logan Paul floated the topic of potentially fighting his younger brother Jake, who currently commands an impressive 5-0 boxing record as well as impressive victories over former UFC champion Tyron Woodley, Payne appeared to name his terms to the Paul brothers and KSI.When asked if he would take on YouTube sensation and Paul’s former rival KSI, Payne swiftly responded to the ‘Impaulsive podcast’: "Yea, but he’d have to come down a few weights though".Paul then proceeded to ask the Wolverhampton born star if he would consider taking on younger brother Jake.
And while his response was nowhere near as swift or confident as it was when KSI was the potential opponent, Payne did appear to back himself.“Would I have to come up weight slots or would he have to come down"” Payne asked.
