Lewis Hamilton was left in agony as he shouted "my back is killing me" after his Mercedes would not stop bouncing during the Azerbaijan Grand Prix.The seven-time Formula One world champion claimed a fourth placed finish in Baku, crossing the line behind the two Red Bulls and his team-mate George Russell.
However, Hamilton was forced to contend with his car's persistent porpoising down the straights as he struggled to handle the extreme bouncing.The issues caused physical pain for Hamilton, who was heard over the team radio shouting “Aaaargh my back is killing me!” as he struggled with his car's performance.Porpoising has caused a number of teams problems so far this season but could be reduced by raising the ride height in Hamilton's Mercedes.
Although that would be detrimental to the car's performance.Motorsport.com report that teams rejected a change to the rules that would have eradicated porpoising after the proposal was put to them last year.Russell even warned that the issues could cause a major incident at a race ahead of Sunday's grand prix, explaining via GPFans: “I think it’s just a matter of time before we see a major incident.What needs to be done to eradicate porpoising in Formula One?
