The Ministry of Justice has insisted that prisoners will not get preferential treatment for a coronavirus jab amid reports serial killer Levi Bellfield has been invited for a vaccine.
The 52-year-old, an inmate at maximum security Frankland Prison in County Durham, reportedly told friends he was sent a letter about having a jab - and his claims have sparked outrage.
Bellfield, who is said to have recovered after battling coronavirus, is serving life sentences for murdering schoolgirl Milly Dowler, 13, and students Amelie Delagrange, 22, and Marsha McDonnell, 19, between 2002 and 2004.
The rapist and triple murderer was also convicted of trying to kill Kate Sheedy, then 18, when he ran over her as she crossed a road.
