The tragedy occurred in the early hours of Wednesday (December 1) at their home in Beverly Hills, California. Emergency services were called at 2:30 am and by the time they arrived, Jackie was already rushed to the hospital where she was pronounced dead.

A security guard was on the premises and was also shot, but did not return fire. His condition is unclear. Their daughter, Nicole Avant is married to Netflix co-CEO and chief content officer Ted Sarandos.
