A murder investigation has been launched in Leeds after a delivery driver was killed as he tried to 'stop his van from being stolen'.
West Yorkshire Police said the victim - a man aged in his 40s - had delivered a package to an address on Tuesday (August 20) and had returned to his van to find a man attempting to steal it.
When he tried to stop them, they drove off at speed with the victim only partly in the passenger door of the vehicle. The van, a plain silver Ford Transit Cargo, then crashed into two parked cars in Heights Drive and was driven away leaving the victim injured in the street, between the junctions of Heights Way and Heights Bank.
Emergency crews raced to the scene after the man was found unconscious by members of the public at around 6.50pm.
