But Ayling steamed in and lunged with two feet on the Brazilian, though referee Chris Kavanagh originally only booked him.But after being directed to review the incident on the pitchside VAR monitor, Kavanagh reversed his decision and sent Ayling for an early bath.
The Leeds skipper had been making his 500th appearance for the club, but his sending off all but sealed his side's defeat.Though Diego Llorente pulled a goal back in the second-half, Leeds were unable to turn the game around, leaving them in the relegation zone.
