Lawyers of men charged in Manchester Airport video investigation issue statement

The lawyers of two men who have been charged in connection with an incident at Manchester Airport in July have spoken out. Police said they were called to the incident between members of the public at Terminal 2 on July 23.

GMP has been investigating the actions of the individuals while the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) is probing the actions of the officers involved.

The Crown Prosecution Service has today (December 20) charged two men with assaults on police officers. No police officers will be charged, the CPS said in a statement - although the IOPC is still investigating the conduct of two officers with a decision 'to be made'.

Mohammed Amaaz, 20, is charged with two offences of causing actual bodily harm, one charge of assaulting an emergency worker and one charge of common assault.
