Lanarkshire scout leader's delight at MBE honour

A Rutherglen man who has devoted more than 40 years of his life to helping the Scouts has been honoured with an MBE. Graeme Hamilton, who is the group scout leader of the 113th in Burnside, was recognised in the Queen's New Year Honours.

As well as his local commitments, Graeme was one of the Scout’s national lead volunteer team, initially as Commissioner for Programme where he advised across the UK on the activity programme and safety, and then from January 2020 to September 2021 as UK Deputy Chief Commissioner.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
