Princess Margaret is sitting next to her lover Roddy Llewellyn, who she’d met at [our Scottish stately home] Glen. We’d been swimming and were relaxing on the veranda of The Cotton House.
I’m wearing a headscarf as we couldn’t do a thing with our hair on Mustique [with no electricity and lots of wind], so we used to just wash it and dry it in the sun.
Like a big sister, Princess Margaret liked to brush my hair and detangle it. She enjoyed doing things like that for people – she always offered to rub on sun lotion or apply ointment to mosquito bites too.1972 - Princess Margaret and friends by Lord Lichfield Thi.
