Keir Starmer should pose with the union flag and military personnel to reconnect Labour with traditional voters, according to a leaked "rebranding" plan.
The leaked strategy, which has been revealed by The Guardian, was presented to officials by the party's head of research last month.
It alls for a break with the party's recent past in a bid to reconnect with so-called 'red wall' voters. It suggested Keir Starmer makes "use of the flag, veterans" to convince disaffected former voters that Labour reflects their values.
But the report - commissioned by the party but written by an agency - suggested that although Keir Starmer is seen as a positive asset for the party, some voters think he "sits on the fence" too much.
