LOS ANGELES – As the Los Angeles County region accelerates its vaccinations and the active cases of the coronavirus drop, following the the state’s adjusted guidelines, if LA County has been at a case rate between 7 and 10 for two weeks then the county in the most restrictive purple tier can immediately move to the red tier.
As of last week, L.A. County’s adjusted case rate was 7.2 new cases per 100,000., and keeping those numbers in mind, LA County Public Health Director Barbara Ferrer said Monday that by the middle of next week the county could move into the Red Tier.
