Pride of Manchester is returning this year to celebrate and reward the most inspirational people from across our region. After being impacted by Covid-19 restrictions in 2020 and 2021, the MEN Pride of Manchester Awards, in partnership with TSB, will be back this year with a red carpet celebration attended by some of our region’s biggest stars.

Coronation Street actress Kym Marsh is set to host the awards for the fourth consecutive year in her home city - a job which she describes as a ‘pleasure’. “Last year’s awards were very different, it wasn’t the big grand celebration that it normally is but it was still wonderful to be able to be there and credit these people despite the fact we had just been in lockdown," Kym, 45, said. It’s very uplifting and heartwarming, obviously there are some tears along the way, but a lot of the stories are super inspiring. “I think when you’re constantly reading about so many bad things going on in the world right now, it makes a great change to hear of the good things and that’s why these awards are so special to me.” The actress and TV presenter from Wigan, who played Michelle Connor in the soap, says she loves being part of Manchester. “There’s lots of things to love about Manchester, but it’s the people more than anything," Kym said. “I spend a lot of time travelling with the job that I do and I meet people from all over the place.
