Kyle MacLachlan Thinks 'Dune' Should Have Been Remade as a TV Series, Not a Movie

The 61-year-old actor played Paul Atreides in the 1984 film, which was written and directed by David Lynch. Timothee Chalamet will be playing the role in the upcoming remake, directed by Denis Villeneuve.
Two movies have already been shot, with the first coming out in December. “My feelings about it evolve over time. I look at it as a flawed gem,” Kyle told IndieWire about his thoughts on the original film. “It’s stunning in so many ways.
As a story, and trying to recreate that story, it’s almost impossible. It’s incredibly dense, and a little bit like a house of cards.
