Kyle Lafferty has opened up on the shattered confidence that ruined his second spell at Rangers. The big striker was signed by Steven Gerrard in a £500k deal after a superb spell at Hearts where he was one of the best players in the Scottish Premiership.

But he could not recapture his Gorgie form and departed a year later after coming to an agreement to leave Ibrox a year before his contract finished.

And Lafferty admits that the nerves that plagued his return left him feeling like a trainee and hoping that teammates did not pass him the ball.
