YouTuber and rapper KSI has recalled his parents’ reaction to him flunking his A-levels and choosing a career online, after they’d saved so much to give him a private education.
The online star – who is now worth eight figures – said he was ‘crushed’ by his mum and dad’s reaction, but that he had struggled at school.
KSI, who released his debut solo album Dissimulation this month, said during an appearance on the Grounded With Louis Theroux podcast that he later realised YouTube was a ‘goldmine’ and decided to make his parents proud by finding success on the internet.
Recalling the day his parents heard his A-level results, the 26-year-old – real name Olajide Olatunji – said: ‘My mum just screamed.
