It’s not that I hoped for one gender more than another - I would have been happy with any healthy baby, though I was lucky enough to have boy/girl twins - but I imagined that, like my preference for browsing womenswear over menswear, the baby girls’ section would be more interesting to me.As it turns out, that’s not the case.
Over the past year, I’ve found far more stylish clothing in the baby boys’ and unisex sections than the baby girls’ section.
Classic stripes in shades of navy, burnt orange and muddy sage greens; tiger and palm prints; and for winter, quilted joggers and Fair Isle knits.By contrast, the girls’ section seems overwhelmingly tacky.
