The Good Morning Britain star was speaking in an interview with Iain Dale on LBC ahead of the release of her book, The Power of Hope, on Thursday.
The book comes just over two weeks since Derek returned home from hospital after a year-long stay following a battle with coronavirus.
The 53-year-old was admitted to hospital by ambulance back in March 2020 after suffering Covid symptoms and he was soon placed into an induced coma.
