Kate Ferdinand 'burst into tears' and knew she'd lost her baby after midwife's silence

Kate Ferdinand has told how she knew she’d lost her baby because of the midwife’s “awful” silence at her 12-week scan.The wife of footie ace Rio Ferdinand, 43, said the pregnancy had felt different to when she was carrying son Cree, one.But she thought it was because she was expecting a girl. And then the lady just didn’t say anything. It was just awful."I just burst into tears. She hadn’t even said anything and Rio was like, ‘Calm down’, and I was like, ‘I know, I know, I know’ and they said there’s no heartbeat."Speaking on her Blended podcast Kate, 31, said the couple’s world was flipped "upside down" when she miscarried in July.She added: "When the lady came in and said, ‘Which route do you want to go down?’ I did not know, honestly I was so in a complete blur."Kate, stepmum to Rio’s children Lorenz, 16, Tate, 14, and Tia, 11, added: "We’d already videoed the kids so excited."We were going to get home that day and share the news."The things we were thinking about the day before compared to sitting there – it just flipped upside down."She shared the news on Instagram and recalled that the last time she was in hospital was to have Cree.
