Kate Ferdinand has revealed that being part of Rio Ferdinand's blended family has not been easy. The 30-year-old married the former England footballer in 2019.

He has three children from a previous marriage. Writing candidly on Instagram, Kate asked her followers to reveal how they were feeling.

She said: "I always think and wonder how other step-parents are doing, are you all OK? "Many of you are feeling grateful but overwhelmed, stressed, pushed and are struggling.

I salute you all. It can be tough, but remember you are doing the best you can." She admitted: "Even if you are a totally confident parent, being a step-parent can be the hardest thing you'll ever do. "Don't give up.
