Jurgen Klopp has opened up about the heart-stopping moment he received a phone call from his agent, who told him that Liverpool were interested in his services back in 2015.The German manager, who had ended his seven-year stint with Borussia Dortmund a few months earlier, says he'd heard rumours of Liverpool's interest via his internet-savvy sons, but wasn't ready to believe it until he officially got the call.

When it eventually came, he traded a quick, memorable glance with his boys, and claimed that at that moment, he knew it was the job for him."I had a call from my agent, I was in a holiday mood but I knew about the rumours from my sons who pick up everything," Klopp said on Monday, speaking ahead of Liverpool's Champions League quarter-final first-leg against Benfica tomorrow."The phone rang, when he said 'Liverpool are calling' the boys were staring at me.

It felt right," he added.The Reds were in desperate need of a pick-me-up following Brendan Rodgers' dismissal at the start of the 2015/16 season.
