Jose Mourinho has revealed the reason why he didn't start Gareth Bale in Tottenham's clash against West Ham on Sunday. Spurs were held 3-3 despite having raced into an early three-goal lead at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, with the Hammers producing an incredible late comeback.

Tottenham were still leading 3-0 when Bale took the field, but West Ham launched a fightback when Fabian Balbuena headed home on 82 minutes, and the deficit was down to one when Davinson Sanchez scored an own goal minutes later.
